We were thrilled to partner with Hagar Australia for their inaugural ‘Make A Broken World Beautiful’ Gala. Funds raised from the evening contributed to helping some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

“For our inaugural Make a Broken World Beautiful Gala, we wanted to create an utterly memorable night that guests would remember for years to come. Metropolis Events helped bring this vision to life. The location and the view were incomparable; the menu was elegant and delicious; and the service was flawless. Above all, we found that Metropolis Events had a genuine commitment to partnership and giving back that came from the top down. We felt so proud to host our guests in such a beautiful space and are so grateful to have partnered with Metropolis Events.”

– Hagar Australia

Hagar is an incredible organisation that works to provide medical care, housing, counselling, job placements and more to women and children who have been trafficked, enslaved or abused in Cambodia, Vietnam and Afghanistan – we couldn’t be more thrilled to work alongside a team that does such fantastic work.

The night featured a menu curated by our Head Chef, Lana Cargill, premium beverages, signature cocktails, live performances and fundraising activities. With a powerful message of “make a broken world beautiful”, the team at Lettuce And Co used the concept of “Kintsugi” to create a bold, beautiful and unique theme.

“Kintsugi” which means to “repair with gold”, is the art of repairing pottery with gold lacquer and understanding that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken. The theme, accented with gold, red and black hues, was carried across the venue.

It was a feast for the eyes and palate as guests enjoyed delicious dishes prepared by our culinary team. Dinner began with porcini mushroom and buffalo ricotta ravioli complemented with a forest mushroom ragout. Guests were then presented with a main course of Black Angus eye fillet, horseradish mash and lentils du Puy or baked Tasmanian salmon with miso braised baby turnips. The evening concluded with a decadent caramelised apple tarte Tatin with cinnamon crumble and calvados crème fraîche.

It was a night filled with show-stopping moments and an opportunity to focus our hearts and minds on how we can contribute to taking steps to make a broken world beautiful.
