A taste of what’s to come!

Let us take you on the exciting journey of our last menu tasting.

The evening began when all of our Autumn & Winter Metropolis couples made their way up our iconic Metropolis escalators, leading into the Aviary Room which was set as a welcome area.

Guests were greeted with champagne, a selection of our newest cocktails: Rose & Raspberry Fizz and Passionfruit & White Chocolate Martinis whilst nibbling on roving canapes from the new menu. One of our favourite food stations is our Oyster Bar, so we treated our guests to indulge.

Obviously, we had to take it to the next level, so the only appropriate thing to do was…a room reveal! Our team opened the drapes that sectioned off the Aviary room, to reveal our Panorama room set in a banquet style with a mixed configuration of round and long tables dressed in white and black linens, candles and mixed florals and foliage centrepieces provided by our wonderful supplier Bloom Club.

The focal point of the room was the twinkling fairy light and pendant ceiling installation (installed by Technical Events) it was stunning and looked even better as the daylight started to fade.

A taste of what's to come!

Once everyone was seated, our General Manager greeted our couples, introduced all of the Metropolis Events team and gave a brief run-through of the night. It was then that the culinary experience began. The way we served food this year was completely different to previous years! We had our staff go around to each table with all 4 entrées and mains that were complete dishes for all guests to view, allowing them to get an indication of portion sizes and the presentation. The dishes were then put on display towards the back of the room on black acrylic hanging food stations for guests to view and take photos of throughout the night.

After viewing each of the 4 entrées and 4 mains, each couple was then served a sample size of all 8 dishes, allowing every person to sample every dish whilst listening to the sweet melody of Hey Jack playing in the background.

After our couples enjoyed their entrees & mains, our in-house tech experts: Technical Events introduced themselves to our couples and treated them to a demonstration, showing the endless possibilities of how Metropolis can be transformed with different washes of lighting, fog machines, utilising our 18 metre-domed roof with a fireworks projection and our personal favourite setting off the confetti cannons over the dancefloor.

The night continued with dessert being served, which was a combination of our new plated dessert options and our new dessert canapes. Whilst everyone was eating, our Aviary room was reset for after-dinner espresso martinis and a late-night snack including showcasing two more of our stations that Metropolis offer, a Cheese Station and our Whiskey Bar. It was in the Aviary room that the menu tasting commenced and guests made their departure from the venue concluding our spectacular event until the next tasting.

An important note!

As part of the Metropolis Events experience, we hold a menu tasting for our couples to introduce them to our new seasonal menu. Attending a menu tasting is an extra cost of $100 per person. Invitations are extended to couples only, due to the number of guests invited. Please note this will be the only opportunity for our Summer/Spring menu tasting.
